WHITE PLAINS, NY, June19, 2015… One hundred home and lifestyle products, representative of four key trends in home and lifestyle design and color as forecasted by the Pantone Color Institute, will be showcased in an exclusive “Open House” display at the summer 2015 edition of NY NOW®, the Market for Home+ Lifestyle, August 15-19, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. (NOTE: A complete list of products, and corresponding trends, is available online at: http://nynow.studio98test.com/press/open-house-display-participant-list-summer-2015/)

“NY NOW continues its strong commitment to the delivery of cutting-edge industry design and color trends and the Open House display is a great tool for market participants to source practical applications of these upcoming trends,” said Scott Kramer, NY NOW co-director and vice president. “The incredible variety showcased in the display, across a broad spectrum of product categories, reinforces the themes’ ready translation into multiple platforms.”

Now in its fourth annual iteration, the 2015 Open House display will showcase products that meet four key themes taken from the PANTONEVIEW home + interiors 2016 color forecast. Following are descriptions of each trends, along with exemplary products from those curated by the editors from Home Accents Today, Home & Textiles Today, HFN and Gifts and Decorative Accessories:

Bijoux: From the French, Bijoux means “jewels.” The light reflective quality expressed in this grouping lends itself beautifully to pellucid transparencies in glass, resins, acrylics, mosaic tile and various lighting effects. Representative products include Dsenyo’s Eva clutch, French Farm’s Jean Dubost flatware, Blue Mani clutch from Infinite Universe, Beautifully Served by Jill utensils and Gail Garcia “Chandelier” coaster and trivet.

Ephemera: Expressing a lightness of color that is often described as pastel, colors such as Wan Blue, Pale Peach, Pink Dogwood, Tender Yellow, Orchid Ice, Frosted Almond and a clarifying white called “Cloud Dancer” aptly describe these charming tints. Some of the products represented in this trend include R. Expo’s Lotus incense burner, Bella il Fiore’s linen purse pouch, Acacia paper necklace, Blazek Glass Morphology matte hand-cut crystal lamp and Middle Kingdom Cold Mountain tulip vase.

Footloose: Showcasing the pleasurable pursuits that bring recreation and relaxation to life, capricious combinations like Winter Pear and Strawberry Pink; Blazing Orange, Deep Periwinkle and Meadow Green, in addition to vacation-destination blues and blue-greens work well here. A few of the qualifying products include Abbiamo Tutto’s octopus wine bottle holder, Aesthetic Movement F&B bocce ball set, Kinaloon’s Magnolia Card, the Jenny train case from Stephanie Johnson and Design Ideas crystal flow bowl.

Mixed Bag: Featuring eclectic patterns and prints drawn primarily from diverse cultures and a multi-national influence, this trend highlights violet and florid orange hues, which are offset somewhat by a sugary ginger shade, while a sultry hot pink and robust wine tone are intriguingly complemented by a plush, mossy yellow-green. Examples of this theme are highlighted by Nelles Studio Moon Rocket coin bank, aMano Fair Trade Madda rug, Embroidered Peacock journal from Chronicle Books, quilted African throw from Dsenyo and Circa Asia’s mango wood multi-color serving bowl.

The Open House display, which will be located in the Javits Center’s North Concourse, will be open during all NY NOW hours and will be complemented by a seminar, “Open House — What’s Hot in Home?” on Sunday, August 16, presented by Warren Shoulberg of Progressive Business Media, Laurie Pressman of Pantone and Tom Mirabile of Lifetime Brands.
