Pretty Rugged returns to NY NOW, February 3-6, 2019 Javits Center, NYC
New York – January 17, 2019 — One year after winning “Best in Market” and “Best New Product” at NY NOW Winter 2018, Pretty Rugged returns to NY NOW Winter Market with its original blanket and new caplet. Pretty Rugged was born in the American outdoors – wanting to extend the cooler summer and autumnal days, while staying warm during the frigid winter months. The blanket is a mix of the most luxurious faux-fur with wind- and water-proof RuggedTex® backing – the only one of its kind. It has many uses outside the great outdoors, including taking the chill out of sitting on metal bleachers at sporting events to tailgating to cuddling by the fire and so many more.
Bringing the practicality and luxury to more family members, Pretty Rugged introduced a baby and pet blanket in late-2017. The pet blanket even caught the eye of Oprah, putting it on her Favorite Things List 2018. This year Pretty Rugged is introducing new products to its line-up to bring more luxurious warmth to everyone. The first of these new products, a caplet, is an extension of the high-quality products the company has become known for.

In 1898, Joshua Slocum became the first person to sail around the world alone. He had a love of water that would be engrained in the Slocum family forever. More than a century later, Slocum’s family can still be found spending much of their time on the water. It was here that Tracy Slocum, Joshua’s great-great granddaughter, would come to create the Pretty Rugged blanket out of the need for a functional, yet aesthetic, way to keep warm in the open air.
The company began in late 2017 and now offers different blankets and products for the whole family.
